DG, NIA’s Message

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) was established under the NIA Act 2008 to investigate and prosecute offenses threatening the sovereignty, security, and integrity of India. Our challenge is to affront acts of ideologically and politically motivated violence against the people and the State.

2. NIA maintains a nationwide presence, with 18 Branch Offices which are strategically located across the country. Through this extensive network, NIA makes its presence felt in all theatres of counter-terrorism in India. Our efforts in dismantling the terror ecosystem are unwavering, through meticulous investigation, systematic follow up on prosecution, robust intelligence-gathering, and timely proactive measures. We strive to disrupt and dismantle the intricate networks that sustain terrorism which includes targeted actions against the financiers, facilitators, and masterminds behind these nefarious activities.

3. At NIA we stand united in our resolve to combat terrorism and uphold the values of peace, justice, and freedom. With determination and dedication, we will overcome every challenge and strive towards a safer and more secure future. Jai Hind
