As per GOI, MHA order No. II-11011/37/2013-IS-IV dated 27-05-2013, NIA took over the investigation of FIR No. 25/2013 of Darbha Police Station, Bastar District, Chhattisgarh and re-registered the case on 27th May 2013 at PS NIA, HQ, New Delhi as Case RC-06/2013/NIA/DLI under sections 341, 147,148,149,307,302,427,395,396, 120(B) of IPC, Section 25 & 27 of Arms Act, Section 3 & 5 of Act Explosives, section 38(2) & 39(2) of UA(P) Act, 1967, Other Acts & Sections.

Summary of Allegations

On 25/05/2013 at around 04.15 PM, members of CPI (Maoist) attacked the convoy of Parivartan Yatra of the Congress Party on NH 221 in the hilly areas of Jeeram Ghati. 27 persons were killed which included 10 police personnel, 38 persons were injured. One 9 mm Pistol with two magazines & 20 Rds, two AK 47 rifles along with 14 magazines and 455 rounds, 10 Hand Grenades & Communication Sets were looted /lost during the attack.

Present Status of Investigation

On 25.09.2014, charge-sheet was filed in NIA Spl. Court Jagdal pur, CG against 09 arrested accused persons.

On 28.09.20 15 Supplementary charge-sheet was filed in N IA Spl. Court CG against 30 accused persons and the case is under trial.

Further investigation is going on against absconding accused.
