Director General, NIA
Director General's Message
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) was established under the NIA Act 2008 to investigate and prosecute offenses threatening the sovereignty, security, and integrity of India. Since its inception, the NIA has remained steadfast in its mission to safeguard India’s sovereignty, unity, and integrity by ensuring that threats to national security are identified and professionally investigated and perpetrators are brought to justice.
NIA currently has a branch office in almost all states of the country. Through this extensive network, NIA carries out its mandate in all the theatres of insurgency and terrorism in India. NIA strives to dismantle terror ecosystems by robust intelligence gathering, rigorous investigations and effective prosecutions. Our goal thereby is targeting not just the actual perpetrators but the entire support infrastructure including financing, recruitment and radicalisation that sustains them.
By fostering strong national and international collaborations, leveraging advanced technology for investigation, and securing high conviction rates, we take pride in our resolve to combat terrorism and uphold the values of peace, justice, and freedom. With determination and dedication, we will overcome every challenge and strive towards a safer and more secure future. In the true spirit of our motto, राष्ट्ररक्षणम् आद्यकर्तव्यम्, we are fully committed to safeguard our nation and its society against the scourge of terrorism.
Jai Hind
