As per Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs No. 11011/32/2015-IS.IV dated 09/06/2015, National Investigation Agency(NIA) took over the investigation of FIR No.238/2015 dated 12/05/2015, registered at Kaliachak Police Station, Malda District, West Bengal and re-registered the case on 12/06/2015 at NIA Police Station, New Delhi as Case No. RC-05/2015/NIA/DLI, under Sections 489 B, 489 C & 120 B of Indian Penal Code and Section 18 of NDPS Act.

Summary of Allegations

On 12/05/2015 high quality FICN having face value of Rs.9,00,000/-and opium weighing 800 grams was seized in the limits of Police Station Kaliachak, District Malda, West Bengal. The FICN was meant for circulation in various parts of the country through a network of operators with the intent to damage the monetary stability of India.
