As per GOI, MHA Order No. 11011/10/2014-IS-IV dated 31st January 2014, NIA has taken over the investigation of FIR No. 25/2014 of Odeansalai Police Station, Puducherry U/s 4 of Explosive Substances Act 1908. Accordingly the case was re-registered as RC 01/2014/ NIA PS /Hyd under Sec. 307 of IPC, Sec. 4 of Explosives Substances Act 1908, Sec. 16 and 18 of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act,1967 (as amended in 2008) on 02.02.2014 and taken up for investigation.

Summary of Allegations

On 29.01.2014 at 08.20 hrs, the security personnel on sentry duty at the residence of erstwhile Minster of State, Prime Minister Office, Government of India at No.5, Elaimman Kovil Street, Puducherry found a suspicious object suspected to be an explosive device below the parked car bearing Reg No.PY01-BT-9595. On his complaint, a case was registered and the suspected pipe bomb was defused by the BDDS team.

Present Status

Charges have been framed. Trial started.
