As per GOI, MHA Order No11011/83/2011-IS-IV dated 15.11.2011 NIA took over the investigation of FIR No Crime No. 711/2011 Dated.18/09/2011 of Thaliparamba Police Station, District Kannur, Kerala and re-registered the case on 02/12/2011 at PS NIA, Hyderabad as case RC-01/2011/NIA/HYD under section IPC 489 (B), 489 (C) r/w 34 IPC UA (P) Act-15, 17 (added on 15/12/2011).

Summary of Allegations

The case was based on the allegation of smuggling and possessing FICN arising from recovery of FICN bundles of Rs.1000/- denomination having the face value of Rs. 8,91,000/- from the possession of the accused persons.

Present Status

Charge sheet against 04 accused persons was filed before the Hon’ble NIA Special Court, Ernakulam, Kerala on 30.04.2013 and Supplementary charge sheet against the same accused persons for the offences under UA(P) Act was filed on 01.06.2015. Trial is yet to be started.
