As per GOI,. MHA order No. 8/14/2011-NE-I(IS.IV) dated. 23.03.2012 NIA took over the investigation of FIR No. 3(7)2011 Dated. 25-07-2011 Police Station:- Phungyar, Manipur and re-registered the case on 16/04/2012 at PS NIA, Guwahati as Case No. RC-01/2012/NIA/GUWI under Section -302, 400, 34 of IPC, Section 25((1-C) of Arms Act and Section - 16(1), 20 of UA (P) Act.

Summary of Allegations

On 24.07.2011 at about 10:00 PM, Sh. Vareigam Mahung (35) S/O Wungkul Mahung and his wife Ngaherla Mahung (34) both resident of Lungphu Village, PS- Phungyar, Dist. Ukhrul, Manipur were shot dead inside their house by some unknown persons using sophisticated weapons. It is suspected that NSCN (IM) cadres were involved in the incident.
