As per GOI, MHA order F. No. 11011/35/2014/IS.IV dated 16 June 2014, NIA registered a case on 25.06.2014 at PS, NIA, Delhi as Case RC-02/2014/NIA/DLI U/s -120B, 489B & 489C of IPC and Section 16 & 19 of UA (P) Act .

Summary of Allegations

Damage to the monetary stability of India was caused by way of transporting; smuggling and circulation of high quality counterfeit Indian Currency notes of Rs. 1000/- & 500/- denominations in India having a face value equal to Rs. 49 Lacs

Present status of Investigation

Charge sheet has been filed in the Hon’ble NIA Spl. Court Patiala House New Delhi on 02.01.2015 against the two arrested accused and further investigation is continuing. The absconders need to be arrested and interrogated thoroughly to unearth the complete conspiracy.

Further investigation is in progress. The charges have been framed in the case against the two charge sheeted accused persons on 17.09.2015. The case was last listed on 06.11.2015 for the examination of 09 witnesses but nothing happened due to the transfer of the presiding officer and the case was listed for 02.02.2016. The presiding officer Smt. Neena Bansal Krishna got transferred in the month of October 2015 and the notification for the newly appointed Judge was issued on 28.12.2015. On 02.02.2016 one witness Sh. Sunil Kumar was examined and his cross examination was deferred.

The case was further listed for 29.02.2016 but nothing happened as the presiding officer was not available. The case was listed on 08.03.2016 and one witness Sh. Ramesh Kumar Suman was examined and his cross examination was also completed. The remaining cross examination of witness Sunil Kumar was also done but not completed. Accused Ekaramul Ansari has filed an application for his plead guilty. However it is pending before the Hon’ble Court. The next date of the case has been fixed for 02.07.2016.
