As per GOI,  MHA order No 11011/11/2013-IS-IV Dated 01.04.2013, NIA has taken over the investigation of FIR No. 187/2012 dated. 26.07.2012 Of Police Station Watgunge, Kolkata and re-registered the case on 10/04/2013 at PS NIA, as case RC-05/2013/NIA/DLI, under section IPC- 120B. 121, 121A, 122 and 123 UA (P) Act- 18, 20 and 21.

Summary of Allegations

Source information was received by STF Kolkata Police that some CTC members of CPI(Maoist), a banned terrorist organization as per UA(P) Act, was making preparation for procuring parts of hand grenades and are in the process of collecting the same from Kolkata and sending the procured spare parts to Jharkhand for assembly which are to be used against the armed forces of the state with a view to wage war against the Government of India and to destabilize the lawfully elected government. Acting upon the intelligence, STF Kolkata Police, arrested one Mohan Viswakarma, who was a CTC member of CPI(Maoist). Thereafter on the basis of his disclosure, STF Kolkata Police further arrested another member of CPI(Maoist) named as Arjun Ghanju.

Present Status of Investigation

STF Kolkatta had filed charge sheet on 19.01.2013 before the Hon’ble Court of CJM, Alipore against 02 accused persons and both are in judicial custody.

NIA filed Supplementary Chargeheet on 13.07.2015 against both the accused persons.

Investigation of the case is completed.
