As per GOI, MHA order No. 11011/55/2012-IS.IV dated 7th December, 2012, NIA took over the investigation of FIR No187/2012 dated 29/08/2012 of Chauparan Police Station, Hazaribagh and re-registered the case on 17th Dec 2012 at PS NIA, HQ, New Delhi as case RC-08/2012/NIA/DLI under section IPC - 386, 387,121,121 (A), 414,120B, Arms Act 25(1-b)a, 26, 35, UA (P) Act -10,13, Others Acts & Sections - 17 Cr.L.A. Act

Summary of Allegations

On 29.08.12, based on an input, local police of PS Chauparan District Hazaribagh, Jharkhand raided a place, 13 Km from PS Chauparan on NH-2 towards Gaya and arrested one person namely Prafulla Malakar and seized one USA made M-16 rifle, 14 rounds, 02 mobile phones, 01 bullet proof jacket from him. As per his disclosure, another person, Anil Yadav who had came to purchase the weapon was also arrested and Rs.09 lakh in cash, 02 numbers mobile Phones, 01 9 mm Pistol and 02 numbers live rounds were seized from him.

Present Status Of Investigation

Charge sheet was filed by State Police against 02 accused persons before the Hon’ble SDJM Court, Hazaribagh on 26.11.2012. Supplementary Charge-sheet was filed by NIA against 03 accused persons before the NIA Spl. Court, Ranchi on 04.08.2014. 2nd Supplementary charge-sheet was filed by NIA against same accused persons before the NIA Spl. Court, Ranchi on 25.05.2015. The case is under trial
