As per GOI, MHA order No. F.11011/28/2012-IS-IV dated 1/6/12, NIA took over the investigation of FIR No.50/2011 dated 23/12/2011 of Machkund Police Station, Koraput, Odisha and re-registered the case on 8th June 2012 at Police Station, NIA HQ, New Delhi as Case No. RC-03/2012/NIA/DLI under sections IPC 120B, 121, 121A, 122, 124A, Arms Act- 25 (A), Explosive Substance Act – 4,5, Other Acts & Sections – 17 Cr.L.A Act 9 (b).

Summary of Allegations

On 23/12/2011 at about 1130 am patrolling party of Police staff led by Rajesh Kumar Chattria along with troops of 130 Battalion BSF while performing combing operation in the Koraput –Malkangiri border area near the Jungle of Village Mundaput, District Koraput, on the basis of reliable information from sources, recovered communication devices and other materials suspected to be dumped by the cadres of CPI (Maoist). The scene of crime is near the Jungle of Mundaput Village which is about 20 KM North West to Police Station Machkund , District Koraput , Odisha.

Present Status Of Investigation

No evidence has surfaced against any of the accused persons named in FIR or any other person. Therefore, the final report recommending the closure of the cases has been submitted before the Hon’ble NIA Special Court, Khurda, Bhubaneswar on 15.07.2014. The Hon’ble Court has accepted the closure report vide order dated 16.07.2014.
