As per Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs Order No.1-11034/18/2011-IS-IV, dated: 04/04/2011 National Investigation Agency (NIA) took over the investigation of FIR Nos. 100/2007 and 107/2007 dated. 18/05/2007 of Hussaini Alam Police Station, Hyderabad
city, AP, and re-registered the case on 06/04/2011 at Police Station NIA, New Delhi as Case No. RC-02 /2011/NIA/DLI under section 302, 307, 326, 511, 120 (B) of IPC, Section 3, 4, 5 & 6 of Explosive Substances Act and Section 13, 15 r/w 16, 18, 19 & 23 of
UA (P) Act.
Summary of Allegations
On 18th May, 2007 at about 1325 hours a bomb blast occurred inside the Mecca Masjid, Hyderabad during the Friday prayers which resulted in death of 9 persons and injuries to 58 persons.
Present Status
Complicity of 10 accused persons surfaced during investigation. Of these, one accused person died and 03 are absconding. Charge sheet was filed on 13/12/2010 by CBI against 02 accused persons before the Hon’ble IV AMSC, Namapally, Hyderabad. NIA filed first
Supplementary charge sheet on 16/05/2011 against 01 accused person and second supplementary charge sheet on 16/07/2012 against 02 accused persons against whom charge sheet already filed by CBI on 13/12/2010 and third supplementary charge sheet on 28/08/2013
against 02 accused persons before the Hon’ble Addl. Metropolitan Sessions Court, Namapally, Hyderabad. On 13/02/2014 the Hon’ble NIA Special Court, Namapally framed charges against the accused.
