As per GOI, MHA order NO. I-11011/66/2010-IS-IV dated 18/11/2010, NIA took over the investigation of FIR No. 92/1010 dated 26/02/2010 Bhawanipore PS, Kolkata(W.B) and re-registered the case on 30/11/2010 at PS NIA, Delhi as case RC- 11/2010/NIA/ DLI under section 121, 121A, 387, 120B of IPC,

Summary of Allegations

On 26.02.2010, information was received by the Kolkata Police alleging that some unknown accused persons, belonging to the terrorist outfit Indian Mujahideen had entered into a criminal conspiracy to extort money. In furtherance of the criminal conspiracy, an unknown caller made several threatening calls to the management of Hotel Hindustan International, Kolkata and demanded huge amount of money. Accordingly, the case was registered.

Present Status

The case is under investigation. The FR-I and FR-II has been written. Awaiting joining of Sh. Shekhar Bajaj, Dy.SP, CIO from Medical Rest as the case file has not been handed over by him to the newly appointed CIO Sh. Devinder Singh, DSP.
