Summary of Allegations

A message had been received through the PSO of the DCB Police Station at 0414 hours which stated that "N.R. Desai, The Airport Manager, Domestic Airport, informed that the Flight No. 339, Jet Airways, going from Mumbai to Delhi has made emergency landing. Due to the threat of hijacking and planting of bomb, it has landed at Ahmedabad Airport". The police units and other responders had rushed to the Ahmedabad lnternational Airport where the members of the Aerodrome committee and the officers of other agencies were also present. Meanwhile the said flight had already arrived and was parked in the isolation zone and all the passengers were evacuated safely from the flight. There was an atmosphere of fear and anxiety among the passengers and the crew members. The other passengers present in the airport were also scarred and the staff of the airport was also very much frightened. A mid such an atmosphere, the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) had checked the entire flight, its passengers and their luggage and after clearing the light, all the passengers were taken to a safer place and they were questioned. On preliminary investigation, it was found that a letter threatening to hijack the flight 9W339 and the planting of a bomb was found by a crew member of the flight. The letter was written in Urdu and below it, there was writing in English which read as,''Flight No. 9W 339 is covered by Hijackers and aircraft should not be land and flown straight to POK. 12 people on board. lf you put landing gear you will hear the noise of people dying. Don't take it as a joke. Cargo area contains explosives bomb and wl blast if you land Delhi. Allah is Great"
