Summary of Allegations

The Central Government has received information that a case vide FIR No. 06/2017, dated 21/01/2017 has been registered under section 174, Code of Criminal Procedure, at PS Vizianagaram, District GRP Vijaywada, regarding accident of Train No. 18448 (Up Jagdalpur Vijaywada Express) in which 46 persons were killed. The Central Government is of the opinion that the act of derailment is a suspected terrorist act by Left Wing Extremists and is a scheduled offence under the National Investigation Agency Act, 2008.

The case is under investigation.
