RC-01/2009/NIA-DLI
Basistha Police Station, Guwahati, Assam had registered
a case vide FIR No. 170/09. The Government of India ordered NIA to takeup the investigation
of the case vide order No.17011/50/2009-IS-VI Dated 01.06.2009. Accordingly
this case vide RC No.01/2009/NIA-DLI was registered in NIA on 05.06.2009.
Summary of Allegations:
Government funds meant for North Cachar Hill Autonomous
Council were used for terrorist acts.
Present Status: Charge sheet was filed on 17/11/2009 against 14 accused persons in NIA Special Court Guwahati u/s 120(B), 121, 121A IPC, section 16, 17, 18, 20 UA (P) Act, 1967 and section 25(1) (d) of Arms Act. Later supplementary charge sheet was filed on 09/02/2011 against one more accused in NIA Special Court Guwahati u/s 120B, 121, 121A IPC and under section 16, 17, 18 and 20 of UA (P) Act. The case is pending trial before the Hon’ble NIA Special Court.
